Customer Next Move

Like jobs, every customer carries a derived next move — and it says why, not just what.

Like jobs, every customer carries a derived next move — and it says why, not just what.

What It Tells You

A customer with nothing on the books says New job. One with a measured but unpriced job says price it. One with a proposal out says present and sign — and tells you how much is on the table and how many days it's been sitting.

A signed-but-unfunded customer says collect the deposit before the crew rolls. One with billed work outstanding says collect, naming the amount. And a happy finished customer says ask for a referral.

  • New job · Create proposal · Open proposal.
  • Collect the deposit · Record payment.
  • Ask for a referral · Schedule a follow-up.
  • Each move names the amount and the age when there is one.

The Why Line

Every move carries a sentence explaining itself. "Signed but unfunded — collect before the crew rolls." "Work billed, money out — bring it home." "Measured but not priced — a proposal turns this into money."

The reasoning is there so you can disagree with it. A prompt you understand is one you can override sensibly; a prompt you don't is one you learn to ignore.

  • Every move explains its reasoning in one line.
  • Amounts and ages are named, not implied.
  • Derived from real state — nothing to keep updated.

Pro tip: Ask for the referral while they're still delighted. The window is the week after you finish, not the next time you happen to think of them.
