Getting Started

Your first hour: set up your company, make a job, measure it, price it and send an estimate to yourself.

1. Make it yours

Open Settings, Company, Business info. Add your business name, logo and contact details. They appear on every estimate and invoice.

  • Open Settings from the rail, or from More and account on iPhone.
  • Add your name and photo under You, Profile.
  • Take the two-minute tour from Help & Settings if you skipped it.

2. Start a job

A job is one piece of work for one customer. A customer and an address is all it needs.

  • Tap the plus button and choose New job.
  • Type a title, choose or add the customer, and enter the address.
  • Tap Create job.
Try it: name the job after a real customer, so the rest of the hour is useful.

3. Measure it

Open the job and start a drawing. Every drawing belongs to a job, so the measurements flow straight into the estimate.

  • Pick a floor plan, an elevation or a site plan.
  • Tag what you measure. Tags become quantities later.
  • There is a sample drawing to practice on. Delete it when you are done.

4. Price it

Open Proposals and start a new proposal for the job. Add lines from your price book, or import them from the drawing.

  • Check the margin if you have money access.
  • Preview the document as the customer will see it.

5. Send it to yourself

Open More on the proposal and tap Send to myself. Open the email on your phone. This is exactly what a customer gets: your logo, your wording and the signing page.

During the 14-day free trial, customer messages go by email. The business phone number and texting start on a paid plan.

6. Find your way

Today lists what needs you each morning. Jobs holds your list, board and schedule. Money shows what you are owed. Use the command bar to jump to anything.

Try it: type a customer's name in the command bar.
