Estimates & proposals

Send your first estimate

Send it to yourself first to see exactly what a customer gets. Then send the real one.

An estimate becomes a proposal the moment you send it. The customer opens a link, reads it and signs. Send your first one to yourself so you see what they see.

Send one to yourself

The sample proposal leads with Send to myself.

  • Open Proposals, or start one from a job, and tap New proposal.
  • Add a line from your price book. The sample proposal is already there if you want to practice.
  • Open More and tap Send to myself.
  • Open the email on your phone. It has your logo, your wording and the signing page.

Send the real one

During the free trial, proposals go by email. Texting starts on a paid plan.

  • Choose the customer and check the contact details.
  • Tap Preview to read the document as the customer will.
  • Tap Send. The customer gets an email with a link. If you have a business number on a paid plan you can also text it.
  • The document is now sealed. To change it, tap Revise. The customer's link pauses until you resend.

After you send

  • You see when the customer opens it.
  • A reminder goes out if they do not answer, if you left reminders on.
  • The signing window can close. If it does, Revise refreshes it and you resend.
  • Tap Send a copy to give someone else a link.

Getting a yes

The customer signs on their phone, or on yours at the table, or you record a verbal yes. See Getting it signed.

Pro tip: Send the proposal the day you measure, while the house is fresh in their mind.
