You can bring DXF, DWG and SVG files into a Drafting layout, from the Files app, the Share Sheet or the in-app file picker.
Formats
- DXF imports on the device, offline, with layers, colors, line types and blocks.
- DWG is converted to DXF by an online service first. That needs internet and the file must be under 50 MB.
- SVG paths, lines, rectangles, circles and polygons are read on the device. Filters, gradients and embedded pictures may not convert.
How it goes
A confirmation shows the file name and format. Tap Import and a new Drafting layout is created with the geometry. Everything is moved so the drawing sits at the origin and is centered, and the original layers are kept in the layer panel. Then edit, measure and annotate with the normal Drafting tools.
If a DWG will not convert, export it as DXF from the CAD program and import that instead.
