Proposals get revised. Version history keeps every round, and the diff shows exactly what moved between two of them.
History And Diff
Each saved revision is kept. Open the history to see the rounds in order, and compare any two to see precisely what changed — which lines were added, removed, or repriced, and what happened to the total.
This is what you reach for when a customer says the price went up. You can show them what they asked for between round two and round three.
- Every revision is retained.
- Compare any two versions side by side.
- Line-level and total-level differences.
One Deal, One Live Agreement
A job carries exactly one live agreement plus its approved change orders. When a revision replaces an earlier accepted estimate, the old one is filed as Superseded. A good/better/best alternative the customer passed on is filed as Not Selected. An estimate whose scope was rolled into the contract is filed as a change order.
Every one of those states is explicit, so you never end up looking at two Approved documents on the same job and having to work out which one is the deal.
- Superseded — replaced by a newer accepted estimate.
- Not Selected — the alternative they didn't take.
- → Change Order — its scope became a change order.
- Two Approved documents on one job never both claim to be the deal.
