Measuring for MI Windows
For replacement windows, measure the existing frame opening (jamb to jamb) at three points for width and two points for height. Use the smallest dimensions. MI replacement windows are built to order and need exact measurements minus standard clearance.
For new construction, measure the rough opening. MI provides specific rough opening requirements per series in their spec sheets. Record the frame depth and note whether the wall is 2x4 or 2x6 construction for proper jamb extensions.
